Art Teacher on the Net  at ArtMuseums.com began as a response to the budget cuts in Art.  Free art projects, art history resources, drawing projects, lesson plans, exploration of art from around the world and much more was offered.  It also included lesson plans and ideas for librarians and art museum staff.

Along with art resources Artmuseums.com has become a place where teachers, librarians, and artmuseum staff, and others can enroll in budget friendly, high quality professional development workshop and learn about Fine, Art, Applied Art, and Commercial Art.

Instructor Valerie Colston, M.A. (BA UCSD) is a University Art Instructor and author with many years of experience developing and presenting art programs is the owner of the site.

Colston is the author of three books and several articiles.  Her books include:   200 Projects to Strengthen Your Art Skills, Barrons Educational Series 2008, and Teens Go Green! Tips Techniques, Tools, and Themes for YA Programming 2012 Libraries Unlimited. Most recently, Graphic Design: A Practical Guide for Librarians Rowan & Littlefield 2019.
